S2k vs. Z4
z4's have stability control and is heavier by 300~400 lbs? they come with wider tires stock as well.
s2000 spins because of its short wheel base and drivetrain lay out..
i agree with most people that what the op is talking about concerns mostly the nut behind the wheel. some love oversteer 8]]] just not oversteer @ 90mph ;[....

When it rains, drive like its raining. That has kept me from wrecking. Same goes for the snow. I wouldn't be scared to buy a car because it has a percieved bad reputation in the rain. Know your machine by walking up to the limits comfortably. Heart-stoping moments are great in reflection, but get it wrong once on the street and you might be sorry for "pushing it" in the rain. I save it for the track and never exceed 8/10's or so of my own limit on back roads.
I've spent some time in the Z4 of a woman that I was dating at the time I bought my S2000, and I also drove a number of Z4s and Z3s while I was trying to make up my mind. The Z4 felt very solid and stable, but was not at all lithe in comparison to the Honda. Visibility forward wasn't as good either. The Z4 is superior in terms of long distance highway driving, but for general handling fun, I preferred the Honda, which is why I bought the S2000.
