S2KI Suggestion for Threads
I'm not sure if I am going to get flammed for this, or if someone will praise the idea, or if the idea ever existed before, but here it is:
There seems to be an overwhelming interest in TSB's regarding our S2000's (Prime example is the Spark Plug TSB). I for one am always interested in referencing TSB's and what people have to say.
Is there anyway that we can have (if the gods are willing
) a new Forum located in General Interest along with S2000 Talk named "TSB Talk" or something of that nature.
Let the flamming or praising begin!

*bump*
Obviously there is a need for this suggestion, considering I just saw yet ANOTHER thread go up about the driver side window glitch. I believe there is approx 7 threads about the Spark Plugs and the same if not less about the driver side window.
Anyone going to support this suggestion?

it can be a good idea, but not exactly a "TSB talk" forum.. maybe a POTENTIAL tsb forum.. or a "s2k problems/troubles" forum or somethin like that.
or the mods can just lock the duplicate threads and refer em to the first one.. *shrug*

Several months back I suggested that S2ki take on the task of tracking what TSB/Warranty service owners have had. They thought it was a good idea but never did anything with it.
The Atlanta club will be starting a database to track these issues. The thread discussing the tracking of TSBs and warranty issues is here:
http://www.s2000atlanta.com/forums/showthr...d=4634#post4634
I'd like owners that won't mind giving out some information to participate in this endeavor.

Have you guys even looked in the Library?
Just my vote, but I think it is a bad idea. There are so many threads on a subject because people refuse to read and open their eyes. Use the search function, there is a reason why it is there. Another reason is because people don't follow forum rules and post things where ever they want. Read the headings under each forum before you post. If you have a technical/mechanical question related to the S2000, it should go in Under the Hood how hard is that?

turno_pwr,
It's not working the way it is so it might be worth a shot. If it doesn't work out you can always kill it. The library doesn't seem to be as complete on TSBs as it used to be and the new search doesn't seem to work as well as the old one either at least for me. The guys are just trying to help out.
Now if Cthree can only get me my Monte Carlo Blue 2004 S2000 TYPE_R with the new sparkplugs and a working automatic window and the 5-6 grind all will be well.

Trending Topics
S2000 Talk is talk about the S2000, whatever that happens to be at the time. Right now it's the spark plug TSB but next month it will be something else. The topics discussed change based on what's going on. It's not like there is a steady stream of TSBs that are discussed all the time. When one comes out, especially when it's a "recall" err "product update" then obviously people are going to talk about it.
There isn't alot of fresh news so when there is it's overdone. I don't think there is any need to panic. If you are sick of spark plug topics then just skip over them. They comprise less than 10% of the topics on the first page and in a few weeks you'll be lucky to find one thread on the first page of topics. You don't see anyone talking about the convertible top replacement or seatbelt recall anymore right? Spark plugs will be old news very soon. The only TSBs that are discussed are those which don't actually fix the problems they were designed to solve (gear grind and buzzing clutch). When real fixes for those finally come out then they too will disappear.
As for the TSB database, that was actually a dealer service rating database which allows people to post comments about the quality of service received and rate dealers performance. That feature is almost complete, I'm actually in the process of finishing it off now and it should be online by the end of the week. It will include listings of all US and UK dealers, member comments, ratings and proximity (distance) searching. It's actually part of a much wider program some of which you will see, some you wont.
The size of S2KI requires that we implement systems that can scale which complicates things by an order of magnitude. If we had only 100 members then yes it would be easy but we need to have it handle ten of thousands flawlessly and reliably. Once the system is in place it needs to stay in place for a long time. People will come to depend on it and if it craps out due to poor planning and inadequate testing then we are in deep doo doo. It can easily take months to develop such systems whereas other things can be done in minutes.
We have no immediate plans to track and record vehicle service and maintenance histories. Honda has such a thing already called hondaowner.com or some such.

cthree,
How about posting a Note at the top of the Site Info forum that contains info about features development and other news. It would be a mini-newsletter of site info. I know that you are busy but it would be nice to be able to refer to this from time to time to obtain official information on future developments and planning for the site.

You guys put some great time and effort into this site, and it is much appreciated by the community and myself. I just think it is a great constructive suggestion that you may want to consider.
Thanks for your time buddy!
