The 2007 S2000 gets better gas mileage than my brothers 2008 Cadillac CTS.
I think the cts is very nice. I wanted one just because it's a really nice usa made car. + it came with a manual transmission ( I don't know if it is still available now).

But mpg is just crappy.

Perhaps your car needs a tune-up? A properly working S, even when driven spiritedly, will get substantially better gas mileage than a 97 Chevy 4x4.
I get the average mpg you guys get. My chevy was not horrible on mpg for its size.

A small honda should be similar to other cars of this size. And if it didn't get the average tiny car mpg, it better have usable power when driven normally.

I'll assume you're talking about a '97 Chevy Blazer 4x4 4spd auto 4.3L V6. EPA says 15 city and 20 highway, 16 average. That's really not that close to the S2000's EPA rating of 18 city, 23 highway, 20 average.

The really important fact, however, is that while some people do see less than 20 mpg in their S2000, most people I read about here on s2ki get 22 to 24 city, 26 to 28 highway, and often over 30 on the Interstate.

For some reason, the EPA test understates the real-world mileage of the S2000 by a large degree.

I echo what some others have said here with mpg running in the high twenties. Actually my '03 S2K gets the same mpg as my '99 Subie although obviously one requires high test and the other can take regular.

I dunno. In 100% city driving on my daily commute I get 25mpg consistently.

Highway trips at 60mph nets me 32mpg. Need a tuneup?

For a sports car, i would say that our "tiny" car actually gets pretty decent gas mileage.

Comparing it to a sedan though isnt quite fair

I've averaged 26mpg consistently for over 6 years of ownership. I drive mostly country backroads 35-50 mph.

I pretty much get 24 combined mostly city, on 225/255 rubber, in my S.

Typically for hwy mileage, compacts get above 30 mpg, mid and large sedans get 20-25, SUVs and sports cars get 15-20. Bearing in mind the general mpg by type of car, the S gets good mpg.

23 MPG .... but i don't really care actually b/c i Own my car for Passion, sometimes i hope gas was $6 so people would be less stupid buying those GIGANTIC trucks (boats) with no real necessity making 15-18 MPG and wasting resources/space overall ..
