S2Ks owned by women?
Dawn, I don't see many, but have seen a few female Stook drivers. I hope that I am not being sexist, but I am especially stoked to see a woman behind the wheel. I guess I just like to see women car enthusiasts.
As to your color question, let me offer my nickle's worth of advice.
My old man lives in Cave Creek, AZ. Not all that close to Tuscon, but similar weather, environment, et al. His last car purchase was a black Acura TL. It looks amazing when it is clean. The problem has been keeping it clean. It is garage kept and he works out of his house, so it's not like it's sitting out all day. However, the desert dust does take its toll. There seems to be only so much that a California Car Duster can do. Luckily, he washes/waxes his cars compulsively. Still, compared to my silverstone stook which does not show dirt, black is very high maintenance.
I love the red stooks. I would also caution you to consider how often you are going to wax the car. Red tends to oxidize very quickly. I had a formula red legend ls 6 speed a few years back and it didn't oxidize at all. Of course, i kept a healty coat of Meguiars on it at all times. In my many visits to see the old man, I have seen a lot of faded red's running around Scottsdale/Phoenix.
Finally, since you live in the desert, I would think you want to consider the heat refraction issue. Black on Black in the desert of AZ is going to be way hot in the summer time. Of course, anything you get is going to be that way when it is over 110 deg's, but maybe you can minimize this issue by finding another color.
Finally, welcome to the board and hopefully to ownership. My fiance and I both love our silver/red MY2001. It is truly a special car and I hope you will love it as much as so many of us on this board do.

My names on the title but I share it (and all $$$ associated with ownership) with my teamates Jason Saini & soloiiracer (Brad). So I not only have a s2k, but AutoX the snot out of her too!

Does anyone know what the average age for S2000 owners is? Seems like everyone's OLD and buying it for midlife crisis....lololol
Id love to see the topless picture but not if your like 50 or so!!..LOL

I do all or most of the talking here, and most of the MODS, but the car is my girlfriend Leslie's daily driver. (Sometimes on weekends she'll let me drive it)
But I take credit for being the one to say I think you should test drive the S2000. It wasn't long after the test drive she was writing out the check...
