Why not just take the bumper off at your friend's house? It takes like 5 minutes.

My friend's house is only 10 mins away and only back streets to get there. I might take it off there. Im scared about driving without the bumper

When I was messing with the water pump for my aftercooler, I had to run to autozone to grab some relays/fuses. I drove with the front bumper off, and I brought it up to ~45 mph. It was fine, but the splash guard did rub against the ground a lot. It didn't mess anything up though, just a few scratches that I'll never seen again, and that really don't matter at all.
