Thumbs up Safe to install coilovers?!?!

Hey guys, i just have one question.

Im buying a set of coilovers off of my buddy (TEIN RS) very soon.

But according to my alignment shop, my passenger side front lower control arm bushing is cracked. so my car is creaking and clicking over little bumps and stuff.

Honda doesnt sell the bushing by themselves. You have to buy the whole control arm to get the bushings. Which will cost me around $2000 canadian to replace all 4 sides.

Another option is to order a set of the spoon bushing sets from AJR here in vancouver, bc. and that is going to cost me around $1800 CAD , thats including install.

So i might go with the spoon bushing set, but not 100% sure yet.

Anyways, my question was

do you guys think its safe to install my coilovers on the car even with the cracked bushing!?!?

I dont track the car, but i might do so later on. Although i do alot of "spirited" drives through twisties and stuff.
Im just worried that the harder spring rates of these coilovers (10K all around) are going to make things worse.

thanks for the responses!!

hopefully this is the right section to post.

Cracked bushings are becoming more of a problem as the AP1 ages. Used to be, those who regularly raced their cars (autox mostly, but some track guys too) saw bushings go bad quickly.

You are OK to intall the coilovers, but you really should get the bushings replaced.

I have a box of Mugen bushings myself that I'll be installing in the next month.

Just started this week (might be brakes though)...but I've visually inspected the bushings and can see the rubber looks old (dry and cracking).

Although I haven't visually inspected yet, given my car's age and history and suspect I need to replace my suspension bushings as well...

negcamber - if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the Mugen set? I'm not sure if I'm including the correct parts, but when I summed everything up the price seemed quite prohibitive.
