Default safeguard tracking system standard on s2k?

Ok I have this sticker on the bottom of both my windows that have "safeguard" tracking theft retrieval with codes or something. Anti theft device. Did this come stock? I have no idea what one of these are or how to use them.

Are there any numbers etched on your windows? Mine has a Prevent-A-Theft stickers that came with the etchings done by the dealer.

That is an optional form of insurance. you have to pay for it and coverave varies from 2500-50,000 of the balance between what your insurance pays if your car gets stolen and what actual replacement cost is. There is usually a stilulation that you ahve to go back to the issuing dealer to collect when you actually buy a replacement. It is similar to GAP insurance.
The theory is that for a thief to sell the car after they steal it they have to break/replace all the windows or they would get caught when the dealer or buyer calls that number. It is just another form of insurance. Most dealers pre-install the etch on all their cars then offer the product while doing the paper work. you do not have to take it, and a fair price is between 3-600 depending on the coverage amount
