Safest way to a fast hole shot...
I'm sure this has been covered but I've searched here and can't find the answer... so question is this...
What is the safest way to get out of the hole fast with this car? Safest as in: least potential damage to the clutch #1, and the tires #2? I realize it's a balancing act... my priority is not doing damage to the car.
What rpm level? And how fast do you remove the clutch, if that can amount of time can be expressed somehow?
Thanks.

under the hood forum probably isn't going to get you the best response on this question but...
launch in vtec, its better to spin the tires some than to risk breaking your differential. I've tried it around 6500-7k rpms, just side step the clutch so you don't ruin that too, you'll get a decent launch. there are too many variables to really give you an exact answer, like cond of tires, mods etc.... still its not a great drag car.

I spent a fair bit of time with a gtech, and at the local dragstrip, 3.5 years ago in my S.
In my view I recommend 7+k then "spring" the clutch. I 'spring' it by holding it down with the toe of my shoe and then pulling my foot back so it can connect as quickly as possible.
In any form of fast launch something has to slip - tyres or clutch - but hopefully not both. The technique above doesn't harm the clutch and gives you just enough wheel spin until you get a VTEC/road speed match (at around 25mph).
Best of luck, but don't blame me if you break anything.
