Default Salvage in history

Guys I need some help here. If a carfax indicates that the car has a salvage title but no accidents reported and the car has some work done( front bumper) and maybe fender. It's safe to assume that it was totaled?

Salvaged means it was totaled no? Maybe theft recovery or flood etc..
Either way stay away.

My S is a salvage it was a theft only missing seats, headlights and cluster never been wrecked so just because it's salvage does not mean there is anything major problems with it. I buy and part out a lot of S2000 most are salvage and it does not take much for them to be total out. It's hard to fine a car that has not been wrecked and most times it will not show up on a Carfax. I would say over 90% of the cars on S2KI has some kind of body damage fenders bumpers suspension replaced. If your looking at a salvage have it looked over good to see if there has been any frame damage or water damage. If the car your looking at gets a good inspection go with it you should pay 2-5K less than retail. I own 4 vehicles and 3 are salvage

If the car is being sold by an independent used car dealership with a body shop next to it, stay away.

I know this gets repeated a lot but when you break it down, I wonder why.

If said salvage car is purchased for less by an individual who may seller it at a later date, he would stand to sell it for the same amount less accounting for age/wear.

No different than a clean title car....unless one didn't get the rebuilt title car for a discount.

Buy an S2000 in the US mainland and ship it to PR. The shipping cost to PR should not be astronomic. I shipped a car from NY to The Dominican Republic for $750 about 3 years ago.
