Default Salvage S2000 MY01 for $11k?

I'm looking for an S2000 as a second car, I'm not planning on insuring it ( beyond liability), and I have a reliable 1st car.

So there is a nice looking Salvage yellow S2000: asking $13,500 - the guy who did the repairs is selling it, and I may offer him $11k, contingent on a 36 hour test drive. I would of course take it directly to a mechanic, and also give it a run for its money myself.

He said it was hit in the side, but of course he used the words "no frame damage" ( not sure what that means in the Unibody age). Also, its a completely stock S2000.

I've driven two S2000s ( A 2002 and a 2004) and have an idea of what a good one should feel like.

So... thoughts?

the S2k isn't unibody, its a monocoque frame.

I guess any skin damage is somewhat likely to affect the stiffness of the "frame", so I should probably pass on totalled S2000s...
