If fuel economy is an important issue for you, then go and do all that stuff. The S2000 is a fun car for me and I don't even consider fuel economy unless I'm on a very long road trip where I might want to travel as far as I can before fueling up. The rest of the time, I drive it in whatever way gives me the most enjoyment.
If you are constantly worried about how much fuel you're using, I think you bought the wrong car. If you drive for fuel economy, you would have been far better off with a Toyota Yaris or a hybrid.

Saving fuel is good
Having fun driving your S2000 is also good
If you can figure out how to have fun driving your S2000 AND save fuel

Btw.. I haven't seen that Mythbusters episode yet
And it's my favorite show!
Is that one of a new series?

When I'm in my S and in traffic, I shift at 3k and use partial throttle. I figure I'm saving up for more Vteching when the road opens up!

This is almost like buying a big screen TV, then watching everything on the PIP.

Oh, did you know you can run 87 octane in this thing?

You know, I just read that gas stuff - aside from the funny way it reads, there's some really odd info in there.

Funny -

However, the public transportation system in America is as heartbreaking as baby seagulls dying out of the sky and can only take you from point B to point S. This makes cars a necessity and not having one is just as bad as not having any legs.
