I am considering saving my money over the summer and buying a comptech SC, most likely through a honda dealership. How much would a shop typically charge to install one, namely a honda dealership? Thanks

non-aftercooled will take about 8 hours. Aftercooled will take (well I have read, atleast 12 hours)

I saved about an hour by making it easier for the shop to get to my fuel pump. So 7 hours it should take them, but I figure take their time and maybe have that extra hour for them to do anything they need to. So I estimated 8 hours at $86 per hour = $688 This is here in NY on Long Island

Getting to the fuel pump is not hard, just time consuming and why spend $86 for them to do it when its madd easy. You have to take out your spare and take off the black plastic piece that is under the soft top. I had to figure out how to do it and spent about 3 hours...lol!!! i didnt want to break anything but now if i had to do it again and I can do it in less than an hour.

As far as everything else, its easy to remove the air box and intake for them when u bring it, but then u can not drive the car...lol....I wanted to do myself as much work as I could, and only opening up the trunk area for the fuel pump is all that can be done and still keep the car driveable

You guys are getting hosed on your hourly rates. Our mechanics charge between $55-$65 an hour. One of the few benefits of living in the midwest.

And what do your mechanics earn? Here in the bay area they can earn $20 to $30 an hour which is why the rates are so high.
