Default On A Scale of 0-10 How Easy is it to install Hard Top?

Hello,

It's been a while and now I'm contemplating of getting a hard top for my S2000. I'm almost done with my other project and now going back to my S2000.

On A Scale of 0-10 How Easy is it to install Hard Top? 0 being easy ten being the hardest.

Thank you!

It has been awhile since I installed my oem ht. But I remember not being difficult at all. Took me about a day but I was taking my time and had to ask my neighbor to put the top on

The only difficult part is placing the actual top on the car. You will want an extra hand.

I agree. I've installed and uninstalled the rear catchers a few times and it took me like an hour my first time to swap them from 1 car to the other. I could probably get it done in 10-15 min now since its just removing a few interior bits and bolting them in. You definitely need a second person to help get the hardtop on the car! Ive tried to do it by myself and its just not possible to do by yourself

I'd say 3-4 as long as you go OEM. The worst parts are the stubborn front striker screws and the final alignment.

2 as long as you have an extra person or a pulley system. 8 if it's just you with nothing to support it but yourself.

Once you have the catchers and strikers installed it's a piece of cake to put the top on or take it off. With a helping hand it takes less than a minute to install or remove. The most time consuming part of putting the top on (not counting initial hardware installation) is applying Shin-Etsu grease on the seals to prevent squeaks.

I have a hoist on my garage ceiling which makes installation and removal a quick and easy one-man job.

My apologies... I should have made it more clearer and the question should have been how easy is it to install an OEM hard top from scratch...

I suggest you run a search. There are a number of threads on the topic including details about adjusting the required mounting hardware so that the top fits properly front and back.
