Default Scam?

I've been looking for an S2000 for about a month now. I would like to buy one as cheap as possible, but like everyone else I still want to get one in good condition. Upon my searches the other night I came across something that looked WAY too good to be true. But for the hell of it I decided to investigate. I found a MY06 LBP with 7K miles for $8,000!

The woman selling it wrote me back and said she only wants $8,000 for it and the car is in California and needs to be shipped here. She said I have to go through Yahoo autos or something. Could this possibly be real? I would bet all my money it's some kind of a scam, but she said before I put money into it I can have a mechanic check it out and make sure I want the car. That whole deal.

It just seems fishy with the whole shipping thing.

It doesn't sound right...
I mean if 8k is all she wants she can just let carmax buy it instead of putting it on internet.

Copy of the e-mail:

hi, my name is ****** i own the 2006 S2000 listed. Price i'm trying to get for it is $8,300.00 and as you can see from the photos the condition is very good. Clean title no problems overall. Location of the vehicle is San Francisco California i just moved from Cali to NY at a new job new house and a new car. Because i have no experience in selling cars and don't want to lose time with this my lawyer arranged everything to make it as easy as possible for me and for the buyer. Transportation any ware in the US will be included in the price that means the buyer will get free transportation to his nearest airport. As I listed the car with an on-line company they will handle the financial transaction. Let me know if you're interested and i will send you all the details.

Let's see....

The seller is in NY, the car in CA

The seller is going to have the car inspected

You MUST use the service that was set up to sell the car. Shipping "anywhere" is included.

Yes, that is a scam.

an 06 priced at 8k is too good to be true. like stated above, if she doens't want any hassles, she can sell it to any auto dealer for much more.
