Scarlet's New Rotors...PICS!
Many of you know that my car is sponsored by MG Racing, as I have said about a zillion times and my signature even states it. Well, we are building my car out and yesterday I was greeted by about 5 boxes of goodies from MG when I got home, which made me do this ----->
Among other things, the new rotors which are made with the new space age material called 'ergal' and are definitely lighter than stock, moreso in the front than the rear. They arrived last night and I was almost blown away by how gorgeous they are and how obviously well made they are. Exceptional quality and a PERFECT fit all the way around...
Well, Brad (meat) and I put them on today. To get the rotors off, use an impact wrench...the kind that you use a hammer with, to get those two freaking little bastard screws out of the center part of the rotors. We had one screw in the front that stripped so badly though, it had to be tapped out. Man, what a ROYAL PAIN!!!
Then I sliced my thumb really bad on the heatshield...which made me do this ------>
Anyway, I was a little nervous about the blue hats in the rotors, but seeing them on...yea, baby, it looks awesome. And even Mr Hardtoplease, Brad, thought it looked terrific...
So I make the drive home...about 40 miles, mostly highway...I stood on the brakes HARD several times and I was like WHOA...I thought they were nice before, but damn, it's a nice improvement. I will be heading to Gingerman to put them through their paces very soon. Gotta put the Spoon clutch and stuff in before I run at the track again...(more on that later)
Anyway, I am very impressed with the rotors. There was not a single issue, other than that stripped screw)...they fit perfectly, they stop the car better and they look magnificent...
Here are some pictures...

Here's Brad being his usual dorky self...

Overall, I love them...very nice improvement over stock.

Thanks guys...
These are the production versions ready for prime time. I don't know the pricing, Giampiero will slip in here and let us all know.
Yes, Mack, they really are beautiful. I was like 'DAMN' when I opened the box.
They are slotted and cross-drilled and made by a German manufacturer, which I can't remember the name of right now.
You can see the blue from a steep angle...and with the Spoon wheels coming in the next couple of days, the hats will be a little more visible, I think, which I am really happy about. I think it had a very aggressive nasty racey look with the blue. Makes me do this ----->
Now I gotta go get some butterfly sutures for my hand...man, it's a nasty cut...very deep.
The price I pay...it's tough being me sometimes. :

Hey Greg,
Rotors can only look so good, but those do.
I wonder though, standing close to the car, looking down at the wheels, can you see the light-blue hub? ACK (edit!) nevermind -- didn't read thread fully. Is the blue an option? Every other car I have upgraded the wheels on (and made the discs more visible) I have always had to black-out the hub with a low-gloss heat paint so the hubs weren't visible...
Have you washed the car yet with these on? Is there any corrosion on the edge of the discs like stock?

Not to nit-pick,

Are you sure we have a near 50/50 weight distribution?
