Scary S2K Crash
Lift-throttle-oversteer will bite you in any car that rotates, regardless of which wheels it drives.
I track my car regularly and feel pretty confident in my abilities (always learning though). Yeah, I've spun it a few times, but that's why I'm on track. Even knowing the car pretty well in performance driving mode, and although what he was doing was tame in comparison, I still don't do that type of driving on the street as I understand how bad things can get when there is no room to go off safely. Plus, it's not nearly as fun after spending so much time on track.

He did nothing to correct it. He was going into that turn 70+ mph, did not downshift and barely tapped the brakes. This was very very much avoidable. Although he broke his neck and back Im glad he is alive. The car is replaceable and If he buys another S2000, I hope he doesn't do this again lol.
As soon as I saw that it looked like lift off oversteer when he saw the other car and was probably worried about his speed, we will also not know if the road was slippery which could have started it all before lifting, sad times but he is alive.
Seeing these videos does make me wonder if I drive really slowly/cautiously or are some cars just really really twitchy? I have spun once on an autosolo which was me sliding through a section and changing direction 3 times and I didn't catch it.

"OMG don't buy an AP1, they oversteer and kill you"
Right. Lift off oversteer will bite you in the ass in any RWD car if you don't know wtf you're doing at 80mph.

Glad the driver pulled through, but unfortunate about learning the hard way with a broken neck and back.
Seems he was not ready for what happened or experienced enough to deal with it.
I like to think that when I'm travelling at that speed in that turn, I'm aware that the edge is there somewhere.
( full disclosure - I got "caught out" in my 911 at WGI in a drizzle when the track got a little bit wetter each lap until the lap when I spun. Road "looks dry" in the vid however)
Vid shows RPM drop that points to a lift
Hope it works out for him.
