Thumbs up Schroth Harnesses

I just spent the weekend at my grandparents and bought 2 sets of new Schroth Profi-III 6 pt harnesses from my grandfather. He has his own performance shop and specializes in Chevy motors for drag racing and dirt track racing, but he had these sitting around and I bought them from him. He didn't even give me a family discount. I was going to install them in my S2K, but need to find a good harness bar/rollbar. The only one I can seem to find is the Cusco ones. I've heard of the Bitterbar but can't seem to find anything on it. I thought about just temporarily installing them in my car as a 4 pt, but I figure I could also put them up for sale on here if people were interested. I want them in the car just for the flashy race-race-bling-bling factor, and I do some risky driving in the mountains every now and then and also feel comfortable wearing a harness. I want to know where I can find a good harness bar and what you all would recommend.

You need a rollbar, unless you want to die.

If you have stock seats don't use them. Scroth would drop that shop in a second if they found out they knowingly sold them to you with the intent to use them with stock S2000 seats.

You need a rollbar or cage and you need proper racing seats.

He bought 3 of them from a third party seller brand new and already sold one. I saw the other 2 and my intent was to buy them from him and then sell them on here which I may still do. As I look at them I can't help but think of how nice they are and think they would make a comfortable addition to my car. I just love the feel of wearing a harness. To me they are a piece to admire since I know they are hard to come by, others would want them for their race cars. So, I'm torn between buying the harness bar and installing them in my stock seats which I know that other people have done without problems or criticism or selling them to those needy racers who require the German niceness in their car.

Wing- Have you found a good rollbar yet. I read your thread and am going to call harddog tomorrow. I'm talked to tinkfist about his bitterman rollbar, but it doesn't have a harness bar, and f20c1 01s2k about his cusco rollcage. but it's a 6 pt and I don't want to pay $800 for it. The one's on bulletproofautomotive might take a while to get in. I guess I'm just waiting for someone to put one up for sale in the For Sale Forum, which may take a while.

They aren't rare or hard to come by. You can get them as an instock item from any schroth dealer. HMS Motorsports comes to mind.

The other point is that they have a "Stay Fresh" date too. I have put off buying harness until the car is ready to roll.

Also buying used safety equipment is another risk I would want to pass on. You said they were new, but what it the date on the harnesses?
