While it's not so pretty, why can't you mold the driveway to be humpedon the sides where the wheels touch so the underbody doesn't scrape? I would be thinking along these lines...

Well....the street is a no outlet garage access only kind of thing so MAYBE I could get away with something. I snapped some pics real quick

Here is good perspective on how long this is....not long at all

Here is how the neighborhood looks - as you can see there is no through trafic.

Scrapes! This was only after 3 attempts.

Severity of the steepness!

Mike......very good idea I was toying with the idea of ramps and figured i wouldnt have to go in at an angle because its the underbody of my car thats scraping - didnt think that i could build ramps into my driveway... You are right it would look funny but at this point i dont care.

Imports - Mine did that the first time!

i have the same thing happen when i go and visit my parents. they bought a new house and my dad couldnt even park his vette in the driveway.

the only way i was ever able to bring either car(s2k or vette) was to get a couple 2x4s and have my brother guide me up. I would only do this to wash the car tho.

you may have to repave the driveway and let the contractor know that the angle there is a little too steep and see if he could take it down a little

Yea....thats a no go. I was banging things down there from what it sounded like, and i felt like i had a lot less control or couldnt feel what I was doing.

Ckit - Very cool. However its not my front thats scraping - but i could possibly put these to use some other way. If these were just enlarged to represent what assassin drew up earlier that would be perfect.

Might be easier to move.

Now seeing these pics I'd say your best bet would be to jackhammer out the floor of your garage + "driveway" and then have it re-poured lower. No demolition of the structure would need to take place, but you would end up with a bit of a lip around the outside (not an issue). The hardest part would be that there is probably some metal rods under the whole floor with tension on them. A contractor should have the necessary tools to be able to support the tension and cut the rods so that they can be lowered as well. It will cost a bit of money, but would be the best solution.

I would grind down only where it scrapes and drive in exactly in the same place every time. Or you could get one of those plastic speed bumps and install it inside your garage just at the right spot so it raises the front of your car as you clear the high spot.
