Smile Scratched driver side window with SOS pad...

Hey guys, first i just like to say that I just got my hardtop installed last night and it looks awesome!

But last night when i took off the driver side tint with a heat gun, there was still some goo left over. So my buddy took an SOS pad (yeah... i was thinking, WTF!) and he used some citrous goo be-gone (or something). It ended up scratching the inside window...

Would I have to replace the window? Or could i take it somewhere, where they can remove the scratches? Any info would greatly be appreciated!

Thanks in advance..

Sann

Take it to an auto glass store and see if they can polish it out.

Goo gone works great... doesn't need the abrasive to get the sticky stuff off. Next time, use Goo gone with a soft rag.

Hope the scratches buff out. But I don't think replacing the window will cost you too much.

Sann, Ha, I did that when I first got my 2001 and tried to remove the sold sticker...hell, only had the car two weeks!! so I checked around, and the body shop could take it off with a special polish but make a hell of a mess...so I used it with a soft cloth and got 99% of it off... never use SOS again on anything

Jesus Christ ... those things are to be kept as far from a car as possible!

to get scratches out of glass, you have to use more than just a normal glass polish- some info here:

Thanks for all the help! After calling some window places, they ALL said I need to replace my window... So, I ordered a window.

Now does anyone have a PDF file on how to replace the window? If it is easy or not...
