Scuffed Headlight Housing...
Due to some moron who was not paying attention to traffic around him (read: me) I have a scuffed headlight housing on the passenger side. I am wondering whether it would be worth it to try and replace the housing only or just buy an entirely new headlight unit. I would appreciate some advice from those who might know about replacing the housing. What is the time and cost involved with replacing the housing? How difficult is it? Are there specialized tools needed? Any advice would be appreciated. BTW, my car is a 2004.

Do you think it might be possible to buff the scuff out? Also might look at sanding the scuff with a very high grit sandpaper and using a wetsand method. There are some polishes you can use for plastic. The wash and wax guys can advise on this.

You have two option. Polish it out, or replace the headlight housing.
See the Clear diffuser installation instuction on our web site (www.ricks2k.com). It will detail how to remove and reinstall the headlights.

No, there is little demand. It is not worth the investment it would take.

Ive tried buffing a scratch from my old headlight. When you sand and buff, it takes a layer of the clear coat off. In certain lights its noticable. Also theres a small indented groove in the area of the scratch now.

Sanding is an extreme approach. Just thinking if he is sure to replace it might as well try all options and see what happens. Can't be out anymore than he already is.

I sanded my headlights, and they came out great. Here's the link.
