Search doesn't work... help with 2nd gear issue
I tried to search, but looks like the archives/search function is not working now.
Q: I've had my S2000 for about 3 months. It's got ~1,600 miles on the odometer. I followed the engine break in procedure (~700 miles). I've VTEC-ed ~3-5 times. No redlining, etc.
The problem is that the tranmission going from 1st to 2nd is always a problem. I doesn't exactly grind, but it's not butter smooth. It doesn't matter if it's cold (worse), or warm (not as bad).
I've had 7 Hondas with manual transmission + 1 Nissan w/ manual transmission in the last 12 years & I've never had such a horrible manual transmission. It makes driving the car a stressful event, instead of an enjoyable one.
Is there anything I can do, other than to take it to a dealer? (I hate dealerships around my area.) Maybe I just have a lemon... in which case I hope I can return it (after they try to fix it 3 times).
