Stanley makes the Husky line, but I believe they're made overseas now.
I hate to say, but You got RIPPED! You can buy a Pittsburgh 1/2 torque wrench for $9.99 with a lifetime warranty, from www.harborfreight.com Look for item# 00239-3RXB.

One of the things that should be kept in mind about Craftsman tools, I think, is that you are actually paying for the lifetime warranty up front. Craftsman tools are priced about 15 % to 25% higher then other tools of the same quality.
That is why they are such a good deal when they are on sale. On sale Craftsman tools are cheaper then others of the same quality level, reasonable quality and guaranteed for life. On sale they are hard to beat.
Also, consider joining the "Craftsman Club" as I mentioned earlier. It costs nothing to join, and membership entitles you to discounts (over and above the sale price) at certain times during the year. Additionally, Sears will send you special sale fliers and notify you when there is a "Club" discount. The application can be had in the hardware/tool department of any Sears store or any Sears Hardware Store.
In the 25 to 30 years that I have been using Craftsman Tools I have been satisfied with them.
