Hi boyz and girlz,

i am supposed to take in the machine for the recall on Thursday.

What does it involve, i am hearing that a lot of things have to be dis-assembled in the interior.

Also, is it dangerous, other then locking up, if i opt not to do it.

Any other info will be appreciated.

Thank you,
Sev

If your scared of them damaging ur interior then maybe you should get it done later, after they've practiced on other s2ks.

I'm getting mine done next week. I waited until the dealer had practiced on somebody else's car. I understand the seats, console, most interior panels, the roll bar covers and the trunk liners have to be removed to gain access to the defective parts. Not a pleasant thought for me.

You are correct! Take it from me. Don't walk in mid surgery. You don't want to see that for sure.

They basically gut your interior. I am going to wait until my seat belt locks up before I take it in. Maybe, it will never lock up!

I had it done, and had no problems. It took quite awhile to do it, but there were no scratches, or any problems. In fact the mechanic even commented on the nice looking leather (Rick's) console cover. At my dealer they only allow one mechanic to work on the S2K's, and he is great.

Had it done, absolutely no problems. Remember, this is a SAFETY recall... in my opinion you shouldn't think twice about getting any recall taken care of that's safety related.

Do it. Most dealers have lot's of experience performing the job. Make sure your dealer has the parts on hand before you drop off the car. Also inspect the interior before and after to make sure that they put everything together properly. I had BIG problems with this but the dealer corrected after I brought it back.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone for your quick responses.

I don't know, the locking is not a problem for me, i don't know if it is worth it for me to get it done right now.
