I don't know what the older seats feel like, but I will say that my 200lb frame barely fits the seat. My ass and back is too wide for the deep bolstered seats

let me take a stab at this since I've purchased several sets of seats to repair theft recoveries:
00-01 the rear plastic panel is the same color as the seat (red=red)
02-03 the rear panel is dark metallic/gun metal color no matter what color the seats are
04-05 the rear panel is silver metallic (similiar to the radio door)
06 complete different
concerning the actual leather or side bolster, i think the 04-05 has softer better leather than the 00-03 but nothing else really different.
