Seat Locks Or Thread Lock Compound/air Gun??
Are the seat locks worth the $60+ ????
I am worried that all the seat lock keys identical and would it be possible for a potential thief to buy the same set and have a key??
The people stealing these seats obviously know their value and would probably be trying to find a work around for these locks.
I am thinking of just taking the bolts out and putting a locking compound on the threads then tightening them down with a air gun.
You guys think that would be equally effective????

If you do a search and read some of the threads devoted to the seat locks you will find that Kodokan's specific locks are an original design and only those with one's bought through him will have the same keys. The odd's of another S2000 owner in your area having that key and willing to rip you off are probably not very good.
Your idea with the Loctite compound and air gun might be effective but it also might over torque the bolts doing some potential damage to them.
If you order thorugh Kodokan he sends you a very nice professional package and it includes a little tube of Loctite so you can compund them yourself. I feel it was definitely worth the investment.

Regarding the Loctite: keep in mind that the blue (242)is "service removable" while the red (I forget the number) usually requires heat or power tools. If you just want to make the bolts damned difficult to remove, use the Loctite red and hand tools to tighten them. Wait 24 hours and try to remove one yourself to see if you're satisfied.
I wouldn't use an impact wrench to tighten them. You might subsequently find out at the worst possible time (as your seat crushes you into the dash because the bolts broke in an accident) that you'd stretched/weakened the bolts.

I'd totally buy them. S2k seat theft is starting to become a SERIOUS issue, at least it is here in the PNW. I know it was pretty bad in Florida too. It's only a matter of time before some jackass in your area hears from his cousin who's ripping off seats around here how easy it is.
Keep in mind that if they can't get the seats out, the sort of person who would do this is a complete and total toolbag and will *probably* slash your seats up as a "thank you." So my recommendation would be a VERY loud and VERY sensitive aftermarket alarm - I don't know how they bypassed the factory one in my car, but they did, and obviously they do with other people's cars too.
When I get everything replaced mine, I'm going to have the alarm wired to a 200db horn, and I'm going to also have it connected to a pair of strobes mounted under the seats so it'll be a hell of a lot harder for them to get away with any further vandilization. It sounds ridiculous but I don't want this to happen to me again.
I wouldn't recommend anyone buy an S2k unless they have a garage at this point.
