The wear, which started to appear after only a few weeks on my car, could be helped by not using the crappy leather. I considered replacing the leather on the drivers seat only to find out the seat portion is around $850 and the seatback about $650.

For that price, I'd expect Coach to do it.

I noticed my side bolster starting to wear very early. Since I am only 5'6", I decided to try putting my seat all the way back for getting in and out of the car. This has helped considerably.

I had my side bolster wear out completely. I kind of crushed it by putting some of my fat ass on it. There was a big indentation in it where you could just feel the frame bar. Honda fixed it for me but they were going to have the upholstery guy pick it up and drive it to and from his shop. I just took the seat out and dropped at the Honda dealer and picked it up that afternoon. Nice job!

My '03 with black seems to be holding up great, just a few wrinkles on the side bolster. I use Lexol to treat the leather, works good and doesn't make the leather shiny.

My 02 Blue interior is showing a little bit of wear on the left bolster. Lexol is the trick I think. I'm 6'2" 230lbs and I try my best not to "twist" out of the seat.

My parents have a '00 Accord 2-dr w/leather and it shows no signs of wear. It is much more loosely stretched across seat though...almost like a pillow. And no side bolsters to speak of.

Lainey most of the leather in your Liberty is called "vinyl." The only leather anyplace in the seats is the little square where you put your butt, a small square in the back of the seat and the same in the rear seating.
I am constantly amazed at the number of people who think a "leather interior" means all leather all the way through.

i agree.. i'm a fat ass and my seat is holding up ok... use Lexol on a regular basis massaging it in the leather.

I was surprised when I saw the wear on some tan S2000 seats, they didn't look as durable as my black seats.
I don't know that the tan wears worse than the black seat. It's just that it shows up more on the lighter color. Some have stated that they don't like the tan because it shows dirt more. This is true but the black is still getting dirty. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there.

My GPW is also showing more wear than I'd like to see on the outside bolster of the drivers seat. I'm 6'2 @ 230 lbs and there's simply no way I can get into the car without sliding down that bolster. I don't think that I'm doing much to the seat when getting out of the car. Most of the wear I'm putting on the seat is happening while I'm getting in. I'm not sure what I'll do about it at this point. This isn't something I'd expect Honda to do anything about but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I've heard using a cleaner/conditioner too often can be a bad thing and make the leather stretch too much. You should only use a leather cleaner/conditioner a few times a year.

A GPW/tan '03 that I saw had small chunks of leather coming off of the side bolster. When I felt the tan leather it seemed thinner and more fragile than my leather.

Photos would help.
