Seats for the S2K
I just bought a new Civic Si on Friday, I love the seats in the Si more than my S. I don't think I'll switch the two though. I may get Sparco's for the S2000 and just keep the Si seats, I would like to see what the Si seats look like in the S though.
I don't know why anybody would want to change the seats. I find them extremely comfortable and supportive. The only ones I would rank as a tad better were the ones in my '93 RX-7. Those had a fiberglass inner frame (in the interest of weight reduction) with an indestructible nylon sport cloth covering. Our S2000 seats are very nearly as good, but have a better headrest construction, and equally good lumbar support without any special dial-in lumbar adjusters. As a vicitim of lumbar disk surgery, I feel qualified to recognize good lumbar support when I see it.
My only complaint with the seats is that the otherwise very good side bolsters do not leave quite enough room for my 'cheeks' as I might desire. I confess to having a somewhat larger butt than the average Japanese citizen, although I might compare favorably to a Sumo wrestler.

I'm 6'-2" tall at 220 lbs and I find the stock S seats to be fine for me. I do have them laid back a bit (maybe halfway?). The longest drive I've done has been about six hours and I had no difficulty, despite having lumbar disk problems. As to looks, I love the stock seats and though the car is a few days short of two years old, they look as good as new.
HOWEVER - I still am thinking hard about replacing them. The ONLY reasons for that are (1) weight and (2) seat height. There are several seats out there that are significantly lighter and that appeals to me. Just as important though, is the question of seat height. At their present height, I have to practically lay over on my right side to see a traffic light if I'm first in line. Even worse, it is obvious that in a roll-over, the roll bars would not protect me. A lower seat would help both problems, though by how much I am not sure.
The one thing that makes me hold back is the lack of adjustability in the majority of the racing seats out there. I have no practical means of "test sitting" most of the seats available for the S and I'd hate to spend so much money and then find that I am not comfortable from a seat rake standpoint.
BTW, I am aware of the two or three threads on here that have dealt w/ lowering the stock seats by as much as two plus inches. Looks like that would be the best bet for me, but that does not help the weight problem.
Anybody have any ideas?

I love the S2000 seats... I would definatly not change them for the seats in my 02 Si... I would however in the long run upgrade the seats to either some nicer recaro's or maybe bride's ... But only after the leather is realy broken in..
