i have aaa and they covered me for everything, minus the deductible when this happened to me. can't speak for others, but i had good experiences w/ them as my insurer
AAA ripped me off. my previous s got vandalized twice, different places different times, but it was within 6 months. they paid the first time, they were polite, and everything went smoothly, the second time they wouldnt cover half the damage that the vandals did to my bumper. hence i believe AAA sucks.

good luck to the OP, maybe verts are just not for you or your car has some bad juju

That sucks

I had just the factory alarm on the car and parked in a carport for the first 2.5 years I owned the car with zero issues (and trust me it wasn't a great neighborhood). Its all luck if you ask me.

Even with an alarm it doesn't mean it would not have happened, most good car theives can disable an alarm in a matter of seconds (its really only a deterant anyway, unless the thieves are idiots). Seat locks could be a double edged sword could just really piss the theif off and cause him to destroy the car.

Good luck with the next car and hope they find the bastards!!!

That really sucks. It sounds like you need a really good alarm since they keep getting stolen.

You should have farted on them for identification if they were ever found

But then would you really want to go through the process of trying to identify them....

I have had 2 s2k's this past year and until recently just have never heard of seat locks or even realized that s2k's were such a target well until last month where the thieves basically left me with a cleaned out interior they got the seats, full dash cluster, steering wheel, my jack, expensive fuses from under the hood and of coarse we all know the nice cut soft top totaling 15k

Lucky for me i got the ins company to use the money from the replaced stock seats to put in some sparcos and a nice new carbon hard top. but the shop has had the car for a month now and still waiting to get it back. Anyways

Just a few questions:
-How often do people have problems with the hardtops getting stolen and are there locks for the hardtops?
-Has anyone thought of using the stock bolts and just welding them from under the body?

PRECAUTIONS TAKEN TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN
-Just got a hand gun
-hoping to park in garage when i can when other room mate is not
-wheel locks
-contact Kodokan_4 about some seat locks
-alarm
-seat lock and alarm warning stickers

BUT IF ANYMORE HAS SOME MORE IDEAS ABOUT SAFETY WHEN WELL IT'S PARKED IN THE OPEN WHEN YOUR OUT PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE!!!

Does this only really happen at night or has anyone had it happen during the day while they were out and had the roof down/out.

Also anyone with a hardtop ever had their roof and seats stolen?

I don't think I've read seats and HT at the same time yet, but dozens of HT thefts for sure.

Sounds like like you're taking some outstanding efforts to minimize your theft potential. I know it's an extremely shitty thing to have happen (time, money and just a general feeling of violation).

That being said - and not wanting to sound like your Mom - be careful with the deterrent quoted above. You shoot someone while they're breaking into a car you could very well do some time, and at worst case, you start whipping out a gun, you've escalated things to a lethal level.

Best of luck!
