Default Second Horn In 2002s?

Hi All,

In an earlier post about an 00/01 Comptech STB supposedly not fitting an 02, I noticed a couple of pictures where a second horn appears to be installed in front of the right front shock tower (both US versions). Anybody know what this is for?

It was suggested that this one might be for the alarm, so did Honda upgrade the OEM alarm with a second horn instead of using the main horn like on the earlier models?

Thanks in advance!

Yep, there are two horns. One off to the passenger side of the badge on the bumper (low pitch) and for 2002 only, one near the passenger side front wheel (higher pitch).

anything would be an improvement on the "meep meep" honda horn ... especially when an SUV moves into you b/c they didn't see you (read- didnt look at all)

From what i have read in earlier posts in regards to the MY02 horn, it sounds pretty much the same as the 00-01' horns

Ya, doesn't sound much different, just has an added note. Unfortunately it's still pretty whimpy. It would be nice to get a more imposing horn--I have a black/black that people never seem to see when they're changing lanes.

So, the '02 still sounds like Roadrunner... I'm going to be trying to retrofit the TL/CL/MDX horn...

Here's a good solution:

These are Fiamm air horns. The installation FAQ is located at: https://www.s2ki.com/faqs/showfaq.php?threadid=17409

They make a nice holiday present to yourself .
