I don't quite like the higher pitch of the FIAMM horns but can live with the TL/CL sound...

The Honda alarm on my 2002 uses both horns for the 'beep' (kinda loud). I'd like to see if I could wire it to just use the higher-pitched one. I can see both horns, but still cannot see the alarm unit. Any ideas where it is located?

I've heard the 02 horn and it definitely has a dual tone to it, but is still very wimpy. That's why I switched to the FIAMM dual airhorns.

On our Griffith Park christmas light meet, we pulled over and compared horn sounds. The 00 and 01 didn't sound too different than the 02, but there was a slight difference. Of course, it doesn;t compare to the FIAMMs that I have.

The alarm CPU is installed under the drivers seat.

Ya, I'm noticing how people don't see my car when they're merging, especially cause it's black, I suppose. Might be good for safety to get a louder horn. I just compared the 2002's horn with the M Coupe's horn. The S2K is louder! Weird, usually the bimmer horns are very loud an multi toned. Haven't looked under the hood in the M Coupe yet to see what the horn config is like. A friend of mine parks his M5 next to our space, I wonder if the M5 has a louder horn arrangement.

One problem with a louder horn, is that someone may look around for the wrong vehicle! expecting to find a large car or truck... THough I think the loudness is not the issue - the OEM horn is loud enough - it just does not command attention.

if your horn is too loud and honk it next to some old grandma. she gets a heart attack, you get a lawsuit.

you can add an additional low tone horn to the stock with little effort.
