secret compartment?
Well, in my world it should stay open until I shut it. It's hard enough getting myself turned around while in the seat to even get it open. Then it keeps falling shut. So no, I don't guess they designed it to stay open.
There's a little project for the inventor types.

The salesman showed me, he knew all about the car. However, when you open it, the lid falls closed again. It ought to stay open on its own until you shut it, doesn't seem to.

Hey Alister,
Thanks for the tip. It seemed kind of fragile so I never pushed it past that first bit of resistance. (I've busted a few things in my life.) My faith is restored in the Honda designers.
The mini gas shock still isn't a bad idea though Quik S2K.

I fit a 20-CD carry case, a map book and my cap in there + sunglasses in the front bay, it's real neat

Didn't the Dealership go over the car with anyone, before you drove off the lot?

Of course they do. Only problem is, most of them don't know as much about the car as we do. The last time I bought a new car, the salesman, who was very nice and I enjoyed doing business with for the most part, went over the car with a fine toothed comb. That I already new 95% of what he was telling me didn't make a difference.
I was reminded of a quote I remember Hawkeye telling Frank Burns in the old "M.A.S.H." television show; "You don't have to tell us the incredibly obvious, the merely obvious will do!"

Drive Safe,
