For the first time I am going to change the oil myself. I don't know how but I am willing to learn, so any advise would be cool.

Like, what kind of tools do I need to buy?

Here is the list what I am going to buy.
Tell me if is wrong, something missing or if is not the right part number.

Mobil 1 - 10W-30
Mobil 1 oil filter - part #105
A bucket for the oil. (what is it call?)

thanks

I cut and pasted this from a post that I made on another thread - Just my $0.02:

In addition to RedY2KS2k's comments, the only time that I had to jack up the right front was to obtain clearance so as to be able to use my longer handled torque wrench to tighten the oil drain plug. Since the oil pan is made of aluminum, I wanted to torque the oil drain bolt properly. Also, to help the cause, turn the steering wheel to the left to improve your clearance behind the right front wheel. The oil drain plug should be an almost straight shot in for your socket wrench and extension. I use an 18" extension purchased from Sears. This job is really easy and DOES NOT require ramps or jack stands.

If you use the info in the link posted by Destiny2002 you should be ok. You are getting advice from the "experts" on this site.

See my avatar? I pull my car so the nose is coming out of the garage but the front wheels are still on the level floor of the garage. Since my driveway slopes down, I can put a rug remnant on the driveway under the nose and access the oil drain bolt. I am SOOOO happy I don't have to jack up the car.

You guys are silly, all that work. I prefer to use a turkey baister. Just suck all that oil up. No other tools . Just reuse the same filter. Sell the car in a few years and start over.

I would not recommend synthetic oil before there is 10,000 miles on the car. You need a 17MM socket for the oil drain plug. Buy a Honda oil fiter wrench on line from HandA Accessories and assure you buy new oil pan drain plug washers from the same source and change the washer after every oil change. Torque the oil pan drain plug to the recommended spec.

RHINO RAMPS

The only two friends you will need.

Oh...and bucket?? I think an oil pan would come in more helpful...look for one with 7-10 qt. capacity. Like the others have said stay away from the synthetic for at least 10k miles. Use Castol 10W-30 GTX. It is the only oil I have used on all three of my Honda's for the past ten years. I have never been let down.

thanks to you all!

I am going to change my oil very soon. Is going to be one of those days " trials and errors". Well, I hope not too many errors.

One last thing, do I really need to buy the oil fiter wrench from a Honda dealer or I can buy it from Autozone?
