Sell my 05 for a 370Z?

Have you driven the new Z? I haven't, and haven't heard anything about it, but there's (to me) a lot more to comparing cars than empirical numbers. The transmission sounds cool, but if it feels like shit, then is it cool? To me no, but to me transmission feel is a huge part of driving the car. That's why I went with the SMG, the feel of the 6MT in e46 M3's is God Awful, at least it was coming from an S2000. I don't necesarily LIKE the SMG, but I knew I couldn't handle the way the standard transmission felt.
As far as the other stuff, looks are subjective. Personally, I think the new Z looks great. Course, I also think the S looks great. Which looks better? Really couldn't answer that, they both look awesome. Speed? It's clear cut that the Z is faster, but is that necessarily better? From personal experience I left the S to a decidedly faster car, that is significantly LESS fun to drive. Ultimately I think I made the wrong decision. However, this is about you, so that doesn't mean that going to a Z is definitely the wrong decision.
If going fast is Priority 1, then yes, switch. It's the faster car (before anyone draws any conclusions, I'm talking stock to stock, I realize mods can be made, but that's not what this seems to be about) so that would fulfill the major reason. If you're looking to switch for switching sake, maybe it's the way to go.
Ultimately its on you. Take a test drive. Take two. Make sure you drive your S to the dealership and I'd suggest drive the S on the route you plan to take the Z. Make the comparison as objective as possible. And remember, either way you'd have a hell of a car.

Hence I cannot find another car I like more than the S2000 at this point, even though all these newer cars have more punch to them
Though I have a few issues with the S, I still feel it is just more of a "special" car in some intangible way. A car that some of the brightest automotive engineers got together to design as a tribute to their F1 program. Then it was (at one time) built along side the NSX. Sure there are a few S's on the road, but I still always check it out and admire its beautiful shape. The new Z looks good now but before long , they will be everywhere and stale. Of course the Z is faster. So is a rusty '76 Nova with a 454.
I understand the question and it is a good one. I have driven many cars faster then the S. But I have not driven a car more engaging then the S. And to me thats the point. Lets face it, it is A HELL OF A LOT OF FUN to drive. A well engineered, purpose built, 2 seat convertable, enough said for me. I don't need to be the fastest but I do want to be the one having the most fun.
I think I will just keep my "old Honda"

Take it from someone that did go to something with more punch, faster does not equal more fun. I always had fun driving the S at 25 or 30 mph, I don't really enjoy myself now until I hit triple digits. Though, to be completely honest I didn't switch to get a faster or more fun car, I switched because I had convinced myself a more practical car was what I wanted/needed. I've 'used' the more practical space of my current car all of half a dozen times in the year I've had it. Live and learn.

Still, the convertible, 8k redline, and personality of the S makes me want to keep it.
What would you do?
What would you do?
Park your S next to a 370Z and note what a giant blob the Z is in comparison. If the size and 500 lb. of extra mass doesn't bother you, go ahead! The Z will certainly be way the hell faster, but I seriously doubt it will be anything like as fun as the S.
If the Z had come in at 3000 or 3100 lb., I would have been pondering exactly what you're pondering. At 3300+, it ain't for me. I'm keeping my S and my 1971 240Z (still the only Z for me!).

Doesn't sound like your really hurting for money so trade and get the Z.
This is the only way you'll ever know which car you like the best. If the time comes when you wish you had the S back, trade again. I realise it costs something to do this but we only live once and this is going to be on your mind until you make the trade for the Z.
