Look at Haggerty Insurance. Thats what I have on my S you can insure it for the value of the car I.E. mine is an 02 and I have it insured for 25k with all my J's racing stuff. Full coverage and no deductible costs me a whopping 550 a year. Only "downfall" is you can only drive under 2K a year.

IMHO if you can afford to keep the car and it's paid off why sell it? S2000's have depreciated so much and are now leveling off in values and it's going to get harder and harder to find pristine S2000's like this on the used market...so many younger kids are getting a hold of them and ricing or wrecking them....

It could literally take you another 1.5 years to find one in as good of shape as you kept yours and it won't be "Your old S2000 you have so many good memories with"

But maybe that's just me. Mine is staying with me for the long haul.

LOL

I will keep you Atlanta guys updated on parts. Locals will get first dibs!

icemans2k02,
thanks for that info, I was actually trying to figure out what that company was called...I remember hearing about it a ways back. I will call them next Monday to get a quote on insuring the car for ~2000miles a year. Thats about how much I'll be driving it for the next year and half.

Wow, this is a really tough decision man which is why you came here. Most people will tell you to do what you feel, when emotionally -- that's the reason why you don't want to let go. There's some emotional attachment to you and your car. My question to you is, why did you buy the Xterra? Could you maybe sell/loan the Xterra to someone else instead of the S2K? Seeing as how you bought the Xterra, I think you have to sell the S2K.

Like someone else said, it's a depreciating asset in addition to costing you $100/mo for a car you don't drive. I would sell it, and when the time is right, i.e you get relocated back, you find another S2K. Financially, it makes sense to sell the car. It's funny because I said the same thing about my 240, but when I started having a ton of problems with it, I decided it wasn't worth it and sold it -- even if it hurt a little emotionally.

Trust me when I say keep it. You WILL regret selling it. Getting another one later is possible but you will always want your first car back. Believe me

Haha, I didn't even read through the responses, just the OP and posted the same thing.
