Type R? As in Civic? Just another FWD performance coupe. Sure to be a hit at the high school.

Why would you want to trade in a S2000 for a Civic?

 

FR convertible vs FF hatch. Two completely different platforms but it really boils down to what you are looking for in a car.

Just own both

I suspect the CTR will be faster in nearly every situation.
But it also likely has a completely different feel. If it's a feel you prefer, go for it. If you prefer the S2000 feel, keep the S2000.

 

I'm sure the new CTR is leaps and bounds faster. But it's FF, ugly, a 4 door hatchback, etc.

I heard the new CTR engine is an awesome one and based on the K-series, but reversed (exhaust is on other side). And, the new upcoming S2000 will have that new CTR engine, maybe detuned or tuned, maybe better, idk.

I'd just wait for the new S2k in a few years... it'll for sure look nicer than some FF hot-hatch, might be light (to follow the new trend that the new Miata ND put out there loudly) and it'll have that new CTR K-series based engine.

 

Just add a turbo kit and your S2K will leave the new civic behind dust.

 

I will be getting one when the demand goes down and no markups. But won't be selling (if ever) the S2K for it.
