I personally don't see any positives about buying a vehicle that likely sat around without being started for very long periods of time.

The seller tries to give the impression that the 2000 miles are from driving around town on a regular basis, but that is probably complete bs judging by the already obvious bs about the paint and interior. I have an s2000 that I keep covered and drive about once a month, its a pain in the rear.

It is a lot of time to pull the cover off, pull it out, warm it up, dust it off, to prepare to go drive it for a quick 50 miles and come back and cover it all back up just to "keep it lubed up." I highly doubt that some middle aged woman who prefers driving a jeep is going to take the time to do that on a regular basis, as I already get annoyed by the hassle.

They could have bought the car, done a 1500 mile road trip, and left it parked for years at a time.

I would be way less fearful of a regularly driven 04 with 50k+ miles owned and cared for by a true enthusiast from s2ki.

I don't agree with the color combo, but I can understand their motivation behind it. Unfortunately the yellow/black-red combo doesn't work as well on the S2K as it does on the Z06.

"Purchased the rights from Honda"

I live in Orlando, it might just be worth the LOLs to see what the owner is like. I should bid on it, and when I win, suddenly realize that I'm within her 200 mile radius and that I don't meet the ownership requirements.
Actually Spa yellow was only available for ap1's, Rio yellow pearl was introduced for AP2's, so if it was factory yellow it would be Rio, and i'm pretty sure Rio's didn't come with any red interior. So it most likely was repainted, and wasnt yellow before the re-paint.

The price is outrageous, painted red calipers on a yellow car is ricey. The door panels and seats can be easily swapped out. The wheels are ap2v1's(came in only my04-05). To the '07 owner that posted above, my06-07 came with ap2v2's...If your car didn't then the previous owner changed the wheels. Why would she need to purchase the rights from honda to put a name on a car of the cars' name(I smell bullshit). And last but not least, the car was built to be driven hard!!! She should be happy to see it go to an owner that would take the car to a road course and flog the hell out of it.

My guess would be that the interior was just re-upholstered.
The VIN stickers are still on the truck and bumper if you look at the shot where the trunk is open. This would leave me to believe it hasn't been repainted.

I sent a message on ebay asking about the trademark use paperwork (as you lease a trademark for a certain amount of time from a company), as well as the repaint.

It does say in the description that they seats and the door panels were re-done to red, so sorry it didn't originally have the red, I should have read the description first before posting.

lol at everyones concern about the cosmetic bs.

I can't believe the 2000 miles on an 8 year old car thing isn't alarming to anybody else.

Before everyone judges the seller....is this owner a member of our S2KI community? Perhaps they'd want to step in and comment. I personally like the red calipers on what is clearly Rio Yellow (to me anyway), but the interior....not my taste

Personally, I'd talk the owner down from $24k and if they were reasonable, I'd buy it, change the interior back to stock, and enjoy. Not hard at all. That is, as long as it wasn't a salvage car or something.

If they were unwilling to come down....then I'd walk away.....just like any other purchase. Of course, we'd have to know whether it was actually repainted.

This car would actually be worth the asking price if they had left it alone. All that shady interior work cuts about 10K off the asking price IMO.

I don't think the paint was customized; I think the seller is referring to the interior being customized. maybe the Corvette has a red interior?
