Default Selling the S............ need help!!!!

Ive been a member of this board and of an S (spa w/ black interior ........ bone stock) for 2 years now but due to money problems i have to sell my baby. Ive already gotten a decent price for the car and am planning on selling come march. my problem is the car that will replace the S. i have about 15k that i am willing to spend on a used car (insurance is not an issue). Seeing as that I am 20 and in my junior year of college (hour wise but 2nd year student) i need something that has enough room to hold: me, books and a passanger. I am a member of an auto x group and still want to have a car that i can have fun with. I was thinking about an intergra type R (yes i know they are difficult to find but there is one in my area (knoxville) that is up for sale). please help me out here guys give me some input or vehicle advise ect.

Sounds like a used miata might be right on target for you. Just a thought.

You can pick up a used Miata fairly cheap and still have some fun with it.

I'd also go for an used Miata. The '96 or so models can be had for very low prices (I see them listed for $5k-$7k from time to time) with relatively low miles. They are fun to drive and the aftermarket is huge and inexpensive. It's a good autocross car, too. The only deterrent I can see is the Miata's image as a girly car, but you know what they say about opinions being like assholes...

You could get an S600 or S800 and stay in the family.

ummm he said enough room to hold himself, books, and a passenger.

isn't miata smaller than s2k?
i know the major issue is the money here, but if he can't carry enough stuff in his car.....idk

I don't know how big his books are, but I'm a grad student and have more than enough space in the s2k. The only car that I would shy away from as not even having enough room to get to class with a friend is an MR2 spyder. He should have more than enough room in a miata to throw a couple of book bags in the trunk.

Have you thought of refinancing your S2000, you can do it through Honda and lower your payments. Rates are good on used cars right now so you could do it and lengthen out the time, lower the payments, and still keep the S. If lowering payments is what you're after.

refinancing isnt an option unfortunatly ........ my 15k can be streched a bit but i would prefer it stayed no more then 16000. a miata has been on my mind but i have to admit i havent done a wohle lot of research on it. I have driven it and it was a fun car still nothing compared to the S though. i can get a miata from the local car max for 10800 its got 33k miles on it and is minardi edition atleast i think thats it. As for staying in the family the best i think i could do is stay in the honda family with a prelude. again not bad cars but those front head lights kill me...... for some reason they just dont appeal to me. anybody have the sites for the miata forums on hand and any useful information on the cars. The only reason id shy from them would have to be the serive department at the mazda dealership here (not planning on buying from them but i still want my work done there) they are aweful at stereotyping and are incredibly rude. Thanks for the comments guy i appreciate them.............. keep um comin
