Drive both and you will know right away.

NSX - The first "modern" supercar. All aluminum contruction (a first), titanium connecting rods (a first), the debut of our beloved VTEC, everyday drivability/reliability.

911 - Timeless beauty, the best worst-engineered layout ever, unparalleled (read challenging) driving experience.

That is one tough decision...I don't envy you.

Wait a minute...I DO envy you. A LOT

I hear the Porsches need a lot of maintainence so be prepared to spend a bit at the shop. sort pf like the maintainence on a Ferrari, you have to have $$$ just for the upkeep. At least that's what I'm told. Don't know anything about the NSX though. Haven't heard any talk about how touchy they are.

amazing how some of u guys will say "go for the porsche" just cuz of the name.
First off I love my 2000.
I've always liked porsches but I had never driven one until recently.

Drove a 2005 Carrera S 2 months ago and wow. The power and the sound of that engine was totally intoxicating.... The Porsche and our S2000 are in totally different leagues.

If I had 120K burning a hole in my pocket I would definetely buy a new carrera cabriolet tomorrow.

I've driven both, a early model NSX and a Carrera C4S. I actually had an R1 RX-7 and a ZR-1 Corvette in my pool of potentials as well. After driving all of them, I enjoyed the NSX the most. The RX-7 a close second and the C4S third.

Gotta say, the only time I've regretted my decision about purchasing the NSX was b/c I should have bought a better example. Get the best car you can afford. Still, chosing a car is such a personal judgement. Go with the car your heart is set on.

Good luck!

M3 CSL - yeah, would be good--too bad none came to US. Importing is a PITA. Plus, $40k isn't going to get you the CSL.

C6 - Fast, lots of power. Still a GM product, and if you've ever sat in one, you'd know what I'm talking about. Still fast as ****.

If you're set on an NSX, get a 98+. '99 NSX-Z would be a good pick up.

A C2 would be a blast, too.

Personally, I'd go for the Porsche.

I would get the nsx with the updates like the headlights and what not. Those look even more amazing than the previous style nsx.
