I try a different vehicle every few years, the S2K wasn't one of the best.

Selling an S2K - Reasons
^ this.
Had an AP1. Had to sell it to finance my moving down to FL from Jersey. It took 4 years to get another one and I'm keeping it as long as it will let me. If this car goes anytime soon, I'll be going with it.
I would only sell my S2000 for the following reasons:
1. Loose my job and can't find another before unemployment runs out...the S2000 sale would pay the mortgage for a year.
2. If I were injured in a motorcycle accident and would be in a wheelchair the rest of my life.
Getting married is not reason to sell the S2000...if you have to you married the wrong person!
Having a child is not reason to sell the S2000...cut out other expenses first, stop going out so often!
To buy a more practical car to drive the family around in is NOT a reason to sell the S2000! You can get a cheap beater Accord for $1,500 that will do just as well as a new sedan.

Started with a new 03 AP1, had an accident, car didn't drive right, bought a new 04 AP2. Thought I'd never sell it, but moved to China for business and was forced to after letting it sit a couple of years.
Came back to the US, bought an 2008 GRB STi enjoyed it enough to get my by awhile, later shifted to a G37S convertible, but in the end still felt eternal dissatisfaction. This year I wised up and bought the closest to new AP1 I could find and will never let go of it (found it with 8,000 miles).
I told my wife don't consider it a car, it's part of the family and is not interchangeable with another car. Whatever my DD is is "my car", the S2000 stands on its own.

bought my 03 two years ago at the age of 23, its now finally paid in full by the time i am 25, its my second car and i will never get rid of it even if i lost my job, it cost me 66 bucks a month to insure, i can scrape pennies off fountains and still afford it!!!
Lucky for you, you live in NC and not the communist wealth of VA...we pay personal propery tax on our vehicles every year in December which even on an AP1 is over $300 per year. Nazi bastards.
