Question: IN F1, i thought that they used the paddles to upshift and that downshift was auto? I think the weber is the only one that uses a clutch to downshift? Am i off or mistaken, I can get confused easiy.

Thanx for any info.

Peace Easy

Any more info about this? Ithought I saw where someone here posted they'd spend up to $10k for a seq. shifter for their S. I bet this can be had for less than that...

I'd be happy to have a good sequential shifter. I want the high tech stuff, including the bar tach. The 6 speed is nice, and it's high tech too, but if the seq is faster shifting, I want it, I want it.

Yeah that about sums it up! Don't dilute the car, the fact that it's only offered in manual makes it special, IMO.

Dont mix slush boxes with true manual-equipped sequential ones like M3 SMG2, Ferrari F1 or MR2's...

Automatic trannies were allowed in F1 beginning this season. Did you guys see the in-car footage in the last race? The Renaults were fully automatic. Don't know about the rest of the teams.
Jschmidt, Thanks for clearing up the terms. A true sequential shift as on non F1 race cars and bikes are MECHANICAL, and it has a clutch. I only use the clutch only at starts -- off the throttle for upshifts and downshifts.
