Because it is telling you to change your oil, or should bring it in for scheduled maintenance. It will shortly stay on constantly until reset.

Have you checked your oil percentage?!! If it's 15% or below it tends to do that. Take it to your dealership and they'll explain everything.

But in case they are complete nimrods...It's there as a reminder that it's time to either change your oil and/or other fluids. How much mileage is on the car?

The only thing that it does is count mileage. Once it gets to a certain amount of miles since it was reset last time it will start to flash. If you dont reset it it will come on and stay on.

To reset it hold down both the trip and sel bottons on the dash. Turn the key to the on position. Continue to hold down the buttons for about 20 to 30 seconds and it will go off.

If you have any trouble check the owners manual it is in there as well.

Read your owners manual. It is the oil change reminder. It goes off every 7500 miles.... and stop pissing away money on 2000 mile oil changes with synthetic oil of all things.

Thats nice but it is still nice and clean at 2000 miles. If you are going to do that, don't bother to run synthetic. There would be no advantage whatsoever.

i don't know how to use the search to i been ignoring it.
now i know how to turn it off. instead of telling people in my car that it flashes to the beat of the music i'm playing.
