I think it should be fixed now. I just ordered 2 tickets myself using paypal, and it charged me $22.00. Let me know if you have any other problems. And good luck!

I'm a little confused, you (or Hardtop Guy) is selling 1000 tickets @$11 each. If you sell all the tickets for a total of $11,000 (minus the paypal fees) and the S/C sells for around $4,400, what happens to the other $6,000?

Why not sell 500 tickets that would cover the cost of the S/C and give everyone better odds of winning?

It says it in the original post. Proceeds of this raffle benifit the South East Super Meet.

We will use that money to pay for event t-shirts and conference rooms fees and such. This will make the event cheaper for everyone, and 1 person will also get a SC for $10. It is a win - win situation!!

Still trying to understand the funding situation, the last SESM cost $35/person for registration which was a good deal since you got a shirt, magnet, and lunch on Saturday. We had less than 100 people for a total event revenue of $3,500 far less than the $6,000 you may generate from the raffle. Does this mean you won't have a registration fee? Or if you have a registration fee AND sell all the tickets will you refund everyone's money?

Guess I'm just a little skeptical or maybe jealous that I didn't think of the idea first. When your raffle is over maybe I'll go buy a S/C and raffle it off. I'll have the potential to make $6,000 on the deal. Damn, now that's a good return on my investment!

I think only selling 500 tickets and just charging a reasonable registration fee would look a lot less suspicious.

The last SESM was in the middle of no where!! This time, we are having it in a city. We have conference rooms for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning, and that costs money. We have T-shirts, Event badges, Car badges, magnets, lanyards, maps, and more. All of this costs money. Take the time to talk to your Community Organizer, President, and Vice President about the costs of THIS event. They know the things I am trying to keep others from having to pay!

As for the Fee, that depends on if we cover all of the costs or not.

As for your second remark, I don't care what you do.

I am trying to make it more affordable for owners to travel a longer distance and not go broke! I want to see owners from New Orleans, St. Louis, Houston, North Carolina, and everywhere else. There is nothign suspicious about wanting to make an event cheap and allow more people to attend.
