Default Sets of rear tires

The mileage thread got me wondering how many sets of rear tires everyone has gone through.
I just put on the 3rd set of rears at 24k miles. I'll be changing fronts for the 1st time next spring.

Still on my first set @ 12K. The rears have about 5mm left.

What are you running for tires down there in Hurricane City, pencil erasers?
I must be a fluke. I'm still on my original set of rears with 22.5k miles and I don't drive slow or easy. They're going to need replacing in another 2k - 3k miles, I think.

That's pretty darn good Dean, I have not kept a set of rears on past 10,000 yet, about 7,500 is my avg for rears. You need to do your part for the world economy and start Autocrossing! That'll bump up your rubber consumption,.. Running the Dragon does a pretty good job of burning rubber as well.

I won't argue your first point. But you never had to deal with the SO-2s.

45,000 miles.

80% tread left on my second set. My first set lasted past my 36k warranty. I drive hard... I just got lucky.

I will be installing my 4th set of rears next spring at 42,000 miles. Probably 8000 of those miles were on my winter tires.

I found that the S-03 17" tires wore much less quickly than my S-02 16" stockers. I think alignment, which was off from the factory, had a lot to do with it too.

2 sets of S02's on my 2001 (traded at 11,000 miles)
3 sets of S02's on my 2002 and I'm on my second set of Hankook RS2 Z212's ( in 50k miles)

I'm not easy on tires. Lots of mountain drives and track days over the years. Anyone who gets more than 14,000 miles out of a set of tires (front and rear) is not having nearly as much fun as they could be while driving an S2000.
