Paint stripper. Then wash them, and apply clear coat.

deja vu all over again....i think i stripped my caps at least two years++ ago...and if you mentioned the sharpened chopsticks [bamboo only ]then my post on the h-removal thread must be floating around somewhere....next thing someone will discover the stock exhaust cross-over pipe looks dumb from the rear and suggust it be cleaned and shot black with hi-heat header paint...but hey what do i know....

I can't remember who sent me the details of shaving the wheel caps, but if it was you, thanks, again!

I didn't use the chopstick, and I opted to clear coat the caps for protection, but knowing that you were able to shave them successfully, gave me more encouragement to attempt the project.

This is one of the main reasons that I post all of the info about my mods. I know that others are on the fence like I was, and reading the success stories of others is very helpful.

I think this looks great. I did one wheel today and will do the rest tonight. I'll post some pixs when done. My wife's going to kill me again, I keep using all her nail polish remover. First the shifter ring, now this.

Wanted to do something to my center caps, just didn't want to pay 100 bucks for Rick's badges.
