Default Sheered lug bolts!

A friend who just picked up a 2003 S with 24k miles just called me to see if sheared lug nut bolts are a common problem w/ S2000's. I was like, "um, no", and told him to call a flatbed and have his S towed to the dealership.

Basically, when he called, he had discovered two missing bolts and nuts - sheared off and missing - and a missing nut on his left front wheel, and two missing lugs on his right front wheel. I told him this is common in any car where the bolts are loose, and seeing how he just got the car CPO from a Honda dealership two months ago, some dealership mechanic likely forgot to torque the lugs when he put the front wheels on....

So I told him to check the remaining bolts, and sure enough, they are loose. Plus, one lug/bolt combo came off in his hand! I'm pissed, and its not even my car.

Anyway, I'm wondering, has anyone else had this happen with their S? What kind of damage do you think has occurred given when he found this?

Thanks,

His rims are probably on backwards. I ran into a problem like this when my new tires were put on. Ask him to check and see if the wheels are centered onto the hubs. If there is any gap then he has the rears on the front and vice versa. The techs at the tire shop I went to assumed the rims were all the same and put my on backwards

just a thought
