Just a quick question: as I as running my 05 through the gears on a feeder road, I noticed that redline in 2nd gear brings the car to 56/57 mph. So a run from 0-60 would require a shift into third gear just to get that last 3/4 mph. Is this why I've seen 0-60 times for this 04/05 version slower than the previous model (I've seen a 5.8, I think it was in a head to head comparison with an RX-8)???

My '03 will do 62-63mph in 2nd. I'm not really paying really close attention to the speedo at that point so this is based on a quick glance will fooling with the redline and shifting.

 

Gearing plays a huge role in 0-60 and ET.
If you know you're gonna run approx 100 mph in the 1/4, you don't really want to have to shift at say... 95 mph.

 

who cares about 0-60? oops i forgot, the average consumer. the 1/4 is similar to pre-04 s2ks. yes, gearing plays a huge role in 0-60, but i dont care that my 04 s2k doesnt get up to 60 in first, it goes 59mph.

Yep mid 60s to low 60s for me in my s2k during 2nd, tested it out yesterday
