Last Saturday I got a 2002 S2000 and the sticker says that the shift knob is "leather wrapped." My came with the titanium one. Which is right?

 

They must have given you a 2001 model

maybe your 02 knob was ripped off at the dealership and they replaced it with an 00-01 version.

titanium shift knob is a dealer install option and need extra cost

If you have a glass rear window with a defroster and tweeters in door pannels you have an 02, if not, it's a previous year model. BTW, the shift knob on the 02 is leather wrapped in the middle but the top/bottom of the knob is still metal.

Don't tell me you have a plastic rear window as well! Does the car have tweeters in the door pannels?

 

It is a 2002 with glass rear window and tweeters, but has the old knob. The dealer is willing to exchange the knob with one from another 2002 that has the leather wrapped one. (feel bad for the guy who buys it)
As someone mentioned the dealer told me that it was an option.

The 2002 has as standard an aluminum knob with partial leather wrapping. The titanium knob is an option. I just installed it on my 02.

 

So what are you going to do?
Keep the way more expensive titanium knob or exchange it for the new aluminum that has the leather?
