I punched out my own rubber circle to put in there and it works like a charm. I even made a few extra and gave them to other S2KI members at local meets. Working at a hose & rubber shop comes in handy from time to time.

I can't get pics of it right now, but I'll try to later on if I have a chance.

Here you go. I snuck out to my car and took a couple cel phone pics...

Here's how it looks with my CR knob with no jam nut underneath it.

...and here's how it looks underneath:

I had one on there at first, but still had a little gap so I put a second one on.
You can actually get them on there without pulling up the console. Just take the knob off and wiggle them through the opening in the boot.

If you put your knob on without the nut underneath it and you are having trouble getting the shift pattern to line up correctly, just put a few wraps of teflon tape on the threads. It'll fit nice and tight so you can get it straight without it moving on you when you're shifting.

Doesn't the added ring bother you while shifting?

Upgrading to a better quality shiftboot solved the issue for me:

I used a rubber o-ring, it's about 3/4" in diameter. It's a very tight fit, but you'll never have to worry about it falling down again.
