Is shifting diagonally to 5th bad?
There is no harm to the car in directly shifting from 4th to 5th gear. I know exactly what you are talking about. One way (the slow way) to shift to 5th is to sort of return the shifter to the middle, then move it over to the right and then up into 5th. It's kind of a 3 step motion. That's definitely a way to do it, but it is incredibly slow. The other way to shift from 4th to 5th is to kind press up and to the right at the same time, ie: shifting diagonally. It makes the 4-5 shift as quick as all of the others, and it's the way I do it.
As long as you are jamming the thing into gear, you're fine. It should naturally slide into 5th from 4th the same as in all other gears. If there is one thing that the S2K has that's nicer than almost any car out there, it's shifter feel.

its basically like shifting from 2nd to 3rd except your adding the slight sideways froce. and ive been told(and always have done) to push STRAIGHT up going from 2nd to 3rd and not do a 3 step motion.
