shifting/launching
wow, soooo much love here.
anyways. 6500 is a good start, if you know what you are doing. slip the clutch and give a little tire spin. if you dump you will get tire spin and eventually kaboom your diff. 6500 and 7000 is where i get my best 60 ft time of 1.92 consistently. but like someone said keep doing that and you better stock up or you could spend 2 or 3 grand and buy a strong ass diff.
shift at 8k or before? are you serious? sorry noobie but two flashes in the red is the best place. depending on you mods, i am guessing stock. best stock times for you will be 11.6 in a 1000 ft or 14 flat in a 1/4.
there is not a lot of good to say here. search is the best. people will say the s is not made to go fast in the straight and trust me it is not. for the money i could build a much faster car. hatch back civic + h22 + turbo = WAY WAY FASTER!!!!! hell if you are just looking for speed buy a bike.

Yea the twisties are for us man this car is ok for what it is in a straight. But if u like to go fast in a straight line get a Cobra 03-04 there beasts. I figured this out a long time ago. Now take ur S to the auto x track and see how fun and much better it does there. When people ask me to race i say next auto x event lets go. They say i mean in a straight line than i know there noobs. But i have not been to one event yet with the CR have been to busy lately and not enough events close to me
hahah thanks ans2k and 08YellowCR
but yeah im over that straight line shit i use to be in it when i had the RSX and stuff there no real skills in that hahah fast foot action and shifting wow. lol. my brother calls me out all the time cause his dam prelude is fast beat everyone in town but hasnt beat me yet we ran once on a roll i got him ever snice than he just wants to race i keep telling i retired lol
but no i just wanted to know if this car was launch able with out any problems like the whole thing about the diff. cause i hear that this car is one hard car to launch and i never attempted it on mine. shit i got new tires on it for about 5 months now and haven't even chirped it once or burned out once

Maybe some of you guys have oily tires or are only referring to AP1s or something, but my experience is that the AP2 can't be "launched." Dump the clutch at 6000 RPM and the CDV valve will just fry the hell out of your clutch while you creep forward. The engine overcomes the clutch completely and even after the valve has released the clutch, it still won't grab. Your car will smell terrible and you probably take 10,000 miles off the clutch's lifespan.
Just say "no" to launching.
